Manitowoc Debuts New Grove Cranes In France At JDL Expo 2023

Manitowoc recently used the popular JDL Expo 2023 in Beaune, France, to stage the public debut of two of its newest cranes, the Grove GRT655L rough-terrain crane and the GMK5150XL all-terrain crane.

The expo brought 200 exhibitors showcasing material-handling equipment, lifting equipment, transportation solutions, and more. Nearly 20,000 visitors attended demonstrations and round tables and engaged in networking and discussions with manufacturers and other industry professionals.

“A Fantastic Display”

“JDL was again a fantastic display of innovation by Grove and Manitowoc,” says Olivier Regis, Manitowoc’s sales director of Grove mobile cranes in France. “It was great to see so many industry players and decision-makers visit our partners’ booths and hear directly from them about what they need to improve their lifting operations. The cranes we displayed received lots of great feedback.”

The GMK5150XL

The GMK5150XL is a 150-tonne (165-U.S.-ton), 5-axle all-terrain crane with a main boom of nearly 69 metres (226 feet). The crane offers multiple taxi configurations up to 16.5 t (18 U.S. t) per axle for easier, cost-efficient transport for customers.

The GRT655L

The Grove GRT655L is a 65-t (71.5-U.S.-t) capacity rough-terrain crane with a hydraulically tilting cab, a 43-m (141-ft) 5-section full power boom, and class-leading capacities.

Other Featured Cranes

Manitowoc also showcased the GMK3060L-1 and the GMK5250XL-1. The GMK3060L-1 is a 60-t (66-U.S.-t) 3-axle all-terrain crane with a 7-section Megaform boom that is well-suited to work in restricted spaces. The GMK5250XL-1 is a 250-t (275.5-U.S.-t) all-terrain crane with a single-engine design for up to 30% reduction in diesel fuel consumption. It has the longest boom in its class and is noted for superior lifting performance at height.
