Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 All-Terrain Crane Is Latest Addition To Jandt Fleet
Jandt Kranvermietung GmbH recently expanded its crane fleet with the purchase of a Liebherr LTM 1150-5.3 all-terrain crane. The 150-tonne (170-U.S.-ton) five-axle crane fills the gap in the fleet between the 100- and 200-t lifting capacities and has a 66-metre (217-foot) telescopic boom, which is 10% longer than its predecessor. The crane carries 9 t (9.9 U.S. t) of ballast on public roads with 12 t of axle load.
"With 9 tonnes of ballast, we can use the LTM 1150-3.1 excellently in the taxi crane business,” says Jens Lübeck, who travelled to Ehingen to pick up the crane for Jandt. “If we need more power, we can get by with just one vehicle when transporting the counterweight. This allows us to offer our customers a very economical solution."
Cost-Effective & Flexible
The new LTM 1150-5.3 joins 20 Liebherr telescopic mobile cranes in Jandt’s fleet and will primarily be used in construction crane assembly, support work in wind power, precast concrete assembly, and various activities on energy sector jobsites.
"As a long-standing customer, we appreciate the partnership and the innovative strength of Liebherr,” says Lübeck. “These factors have contributed significantly to the success and growth of our company. We are convinced of the cost-effectiveness of the products, for example the Liebherr single-engine concept, which has enabled us to further reduce the CO2 emissions of our fleet. On the other hand, we benefit from the excellent service for our entire fleet."
About The LTM 1150-5.3
The LTM 1150-5.3 has a maximum hoist height of 92 metres (302 feet) with a maximum radius of 72 m (236 ft). A variety of jib configurations can extend these capacities. The crane is equipped with an ECOmode to save fuel and reduce carbon emissions and noise. This mode allows the pump drive to be automatically disengaged in engine idling mode and switched back on in seconds when power is needed. The control system also automatically calculates the optimum engine speed for the preselected work. The all-terrain crane also benefits from Liebherr’s AutoBallast technology, which lets operators complete the ballasting process automatically with the touch of a button.
