Manitowoc Presenting Grove All-Terrain Cranes & Potain Tower Cranes At JDL Expo

From cranes built for mobility and operating in tight spaces to self-erecting tower cranes, Manitowoc is showcasing the innovations of its Grove and Potain brands to attendees at the upcoming JDL Expo. The exhibition, which specialises in equipment handling, lifting, and heavy transport vehicles, takes place 22 to 24 June in Beaune, France. The two Grove mobile cranes and Potain towers cranes will be on Manitowoc’s booth (No. A56). Learn more about the key features of each below.

Grove GMK3060L-1

This all-terrain crane features a three-axle carrier that’s 8.67 metres (28.4 feet) long. The compact chassis provides construction operations with the flexibility to work on space-constrained jobsites, and the crane’s 48-m (157.5 ft) seven-section Megaform boom offers expandable reach. For lighter-duty work, operators can equip the crane with 7.5 tonnes (8.27 U.S. tons) of counterweight to comply with 12-t (13.2-U.S.-t) per axle road regulations. The GMK3060L-1 has a maximum lift capacity of 60 t (65 U.S. t) and hook heights can reach 65 m (213 ft).

Grove GMK5150L-1

The GMK5150L-1 features a six-section Megaform main boom that reaches 60 m (197 ft), and with a 150-t (175-U.S.-t) capacity, this Grove all-terrain crane brings together high lift capacities and enhanced mobility from Grove’s multiple counterweight configurations. Grove says the GMK5150L-1 can travel at 12 t per axle with 10.2 t (11.2 U.S. t) of counterweight. Like its all-terrain GMK3060L-1 counterpart, the GMK5150L-1 is equipped with Grove telematics to enhance fleet management.

Potain Igo T 99

The 6-t (6.6-U.S.-t) Igo T 99 offers a 48-m (157-ft) reach and features an unfolding mechanism to deploy the crane from the top after the base is erected, allowing for quick setup in narrow spaces near buildings. And with six jib lengths and three additional mast sections, the Igo T 99 offers a multitude of lift configurations. Potain designed the Igo T 99 with a transportation footprint measuring 15.6 m (51.2 ft) long and 4 m (13.1 ft) high when fitted with 80-km/h (50-mph) axles. The crane’s 4.5 x 4.5 m (14.7 x 14.7 ft) jobsite footprint saves valuable space when erecting the crane in tight spaces.

Potain Hup M 28-22

The Hup M 28-22 is a self-erecting crane with 2.2-t (2.4-U.S.-t) maximum capacity and 28-m (92-ft) jib, and thanks to the integrated transport axle, the Hup M 28-22 crane can be easily transported on the road at speeds up to 80 km/h and is easy to move around a jobsite. Potain designed the Hup M 28-22 for flexibility and fast setup; operators can use its remote control to select one of 16 jib configurations and the footprint option best for the job and the site.
