Manoeuvrable & Versatile Liebherr LTM 1110-5.1 Serves As Auxiliary Crane For Italian Lifting & Heavy Transport Company

Fagioli S.p.A. is using Liebherr’s new LTM 1110-5.1 to support the larger, higher-lifting-capacity cranes in its fleet, providing valuable assistance on heavy transport loading jobs. The 110-tonne (125-U.S.-ton) LTM 1110-5.1’s mobility is a key feature for Fagioli, allowing the Italian lifting and heavy transport company to drive the crane on all types of roads and jobsites.

“This type of crane is really manoeuvrable and versatile, making it ideal as an auxiliary crane for our models with high load-bearing capacity,” says Gabriele Scandolo, asset manager at Fagioli. “The new LTM 1110-5.1 is a perfect addition to our fleet in the lower lifting capacity range.”

Five-Axle Mobility

Liebherr equips the LTM 1110-5.1 with a six-cylinder Liebherr diesel engine that provides a top driving speed of 85 km/h (53 mph). The all-terrain crane utilises Liebherr’s ECOmode technology to minimise fuel consumption and noise emissions, as well as ECOdrive, which reduces engine speed for quieter, more comfortable and efficient operation, and shifts gears faster for better traction and off-road performance. Road travel is optimised, thanks to the12-t (13.2-U.S.-t) axle load, and the crane can carry up to 13.1 t (14.4 U.S. t) of counterweight on public roads. Liebherr says this allows operators to perform most crane jobs without having to transport additional ballast for the crane’s quick-change ballast system. The all-terrain crane’s Hillstart-Aid technology makes for easier starting on hills and precludes backward rolling.

Long & Powerful Telescopic Boom

Liebherr says the LTM 1110-5.1’s 60-metre (197-foot) telescopic boom is one of the longest in its class. The LTM 1110-5.1 has a maximum hoist height of 91 m (298.5 ft) and maximum radius of 66 m (216.5 ft). The crane’s highest lifting capacities are possible because of Liebherr’s VarioBase Plus technology, which gives the rear outriggers a greater support width (8.3 m, 27.2 ft) than the front outriggers. Liebherr says the trapezoidal VarioBase Plus allows for a 29% increase in lifting performance with a 12-t axle load configuration.
